Baby Booty & Big Boo
Baby Vinny & Big Vinny
Baby Bandero & Big Bandero
Baby Flame & Big Flame
Baby Nikita & Big Nikita
Meet my gorgeous fur kids! Booty is my oldest; he will be 15 this year, 2011.
Bandero will be 12 this year, Vinny and Flame will both be 11 and dearest Nikita will be 8. My new baby Klondike will be 3 this year. Booty is the only one I didn't adopt from the SPCA.
This is Boots, better known as Booty. He has the biggest boots and paws I have ever seen. Booty came to us unexpectedly. One of my closest friends and I were chatting on the phone one afternoon. This friend loved little dogs and really had no use for cats much. As a matter of fact she was afraid of them. So when she said to me, "You will never guess what I have in my house".........I knew it had to be a cat. Of course, she said I had to see for myself. We were heading out to go shopping, so I checked out the little guy and he was a cutie and a real handful. He really wanted to be outside, and was climbing the grape vines when I got there.
It seems her son got the kitten for his girlfriend who just lost her cat. Once she brought the cat home, her father said NO WAY, no more cats, he has to go.
So now the poor little guy was in a home where they didn't know what to do with him. Her son wanted to keep him, but no one else wanted him there. Naturally, I said I would take him and I did. Booty loved getting to his new home, as he has 6 acres to roam. He always seemed to be up some tree or chasing some dog off the property. He has no fear. Boo is a real gentleman and a total sweetheart. He always accepts any new additions with warmth. Boo and I even share the same birthday.

This is Bandero, Mr Rebel without a cause. Where oh where do I ever start when it comes to this cat? From the beginning I guess. When we decided to get this guy, we already had 2 female siamese and Booty. We really wanted a pretty grey cat. So after work, I stopped in at the Nanaimo SPCA. We had already looked locally and there were no grey kittens. I walked in and said I was looking for a grey male kitten. To my surprise they actually had one. When the girl handed him to me he was so small and so cute. I knew he was the one. As I filled out the paperwork he played on the papers and was so good. Off we went in the car. He naturally wanted out of the carrier and since it was a 30 minute drive, I gave in. He stayed on my lap the whole way home. We bonded very quickly and he is still a really lovable guy.
He was extremely small so we started to feed him very well. The silly thing is he wanted our food. He just had to have sausage and eggs if that's what we were having. He turned out to be a real wild kitten; you would never know what shape the house would be in when you got home. He was a real home wrecker to say the least. Today he is still a rebel, a great hunter, and a very stubborn boy. He is still full of mischief and will attack your leg as you walk by just for fun. When he wants out, he wants out and you better not mess with him. He does love his lap time and puuuurrrrrs madly for hours. Never a dull moment with Bandero...xoxoxox

The Soul of an Angel.......My little man, Vinny. The world is full of amazing cats, but for me, Vinny is perfect. His nature is amazingly soulful. I came across Vinny and his litter mates one day at Petcetera. Anywhere that there are cats needing homes is dangerous for me. Of course, I could NOT get him out of my head for the next 48 hours. I told my husband about him and said I had to have him. We really wanted an orange tabby and heard a litter were on the way. So we went into Petcetera and brought home this little guy and an orange tabby as well. We thought it would be nice for them to have each other to play with.
In the car on the way home, Vinny was all over us. I have never seen such a thankful kitten. He was rubbing his little face into ours and purring non stop. We had no idea he was not all that well. He was eating constantly and never gained weight and I started to get worried. I thought he must need worming. The vet said he was very ill and she doubted he would live long. We were devastated, because Vinny was our baby and we were so attached. Vinny was so affectionate we simply fell in love with him. We prepared to lose him and spent every waking minute with him. He also loved it outside in the sun, so we took him outside with supervision. Then, I received a call from my vet who thought maybe we could give him vitamin therapy. I jumped at the chance to do anything. Within a couple of weeks, our sweetie started to turn a corner. We were so excited as we watched Vinny gain weight. Our vet still thinks it was really the love that saved him. Either way, all I care is that he is a thriving 12 pound boy, and even more affectionate than ever. Vinny is the most special cat I have ever known.................Vinny is ALL LOVE.

This is our Eternal Flame!!! This is the little guy we got the same day as Vinny. We quite simply wanted an orange tabby. When I went on a hunt for an orange tabby, there were none available. Eventually I called and was told a whole litter was brought in with the mother. I quickly went and picked out this kitten right away. He slept the whole drive home as he had just been neutered and was zonked. What we didn't know was he had also picked up a cold on his short stay at the shelter. His breathing was something awful for 24 hours. I held him pretty much the whole time. Our vet said he would likely be over it in about 24 hours and he was. Poor little guy.
Flame has one thing on his mind: FOOD. He is not over weight at all, but he sure loves to eat. He is a little more reserved and has a tendency to make himself invisible somewhere in the house. He just likes peace and quiet. He really is a gentle guy and gets along with every other cat. He does love his neck and chin rubbed, and will purr for hours.
This little princess goes by many names. including Slink, Baby Girl, Little Princess, and Queen Of The Night!!!
Nikita is truly our little mouser! We don't allow our cats to be outside at night......However, we do let Nikita stay out when it's dark for a few hours since she only seems to hunt around the yard and we can call her and she is right near by.
Our first little female was not planned but as ever, things happen when they happen. I had gone to the local pet store to purchase something in June and they had about 15 kittens looking for homes. At the time I really wasn't looking for another addition. I had noticed though that there were 5 black kittens in the mix. When I went back to the store in September, I was very sad to see that all the kittens were adopted out except all the black ones. I was told everyone said they were too ordinary. Well, that broke my heart. At that moment I knew one of those kittens was coming home with me. It was hard to choose because they were all so similar in looks. I decided to let one of them pick me and that was my girl Nikita. Her purring never stopped. She is a very tiny girl and very cheeky; she will put the run on the boys. Her meow is more like a scream, and I know she means business. She looks short haired in the summer, but grows this huge thick winter coat almost looking like a Persian. It's just gorgeous.

Baby Klondike & Big Klondike

This is Klondike, MY NEW BABY!! It's NOW coming up 3 years; he is all grown up and marvelous! He will always be my baby!   He was born March 22, 2008 and is simply adorable! Klondike, who is already getting called KK for short, was adopted from the Port Alberni SPCA, on May 28th, 2008. I have never had a completely white kitten and always wanted one, so for some reason I told myself this was the year I was going to look for one. Late Tuesday night before I went to bed, I decided to take a quick look at the SPCA adoptable kittens, and there were 2 in Port Alberni, brother and sister. They were identical and were both adopted at the same time. KK is playful and friendly and loves the other cats.  He is a real charmer!!! He apparently has Siamese in him and is a fetcher and a packer, as well as a paper shredder. He is charming and funny and sure makes us happy. Of course he can do no wrong!!
